Fast to launch, genuinely good for simple flows. Hits a wall the moment you need custom business logic, multi-system integrations, or a data model that does not match the platform's assumptions.
Vibe-coded (AI-native)
Best fit:SMBs and growth-stage companies that need a real production-grade web app, want to own their code, and cannot afford the traditional agency timeline or the platform lock-in of no-code.

When to build a web app (and when not to)
A web app is the right move when you have custom business logic that no off-the-shelf tool models cleanly, when you need data ownership and portability, when you plan to integrate with external systems (CRMs, payment processors, APIs, hardware), or when you expect the product to grow and you cannot afford to rebuild it from scratch in eighteen months. Those are the cases where investing in real code from the start pays back quickly.
A web app is not the right first move when you have not validated the concept yet. If you are still figuring out whether users want the thing at all, a no-code prototype or even a manually-run process is the cheaper way to learn. Build custom after you have evidence, not before. Similarly, if the workflow is genuinely simple and fits inside a platform's native capabilities, no-code is faster and there is nothing wrong with using it. The deciding question is not "what is more impressive" but "what gets the job done at the lowest cost to learn and the lowest cost to change."
